Shadow puppetry, with its contrasting shapes and dramatic movement, is a unique medium within which to explore the poetry and art of children who experienced the Holocaust. In this residency, after learning about the Holocaust and the human toll it enacted, Baltimore area students will craft their own shadow puppet presentations that interpret some of the children’s poetry and visual art retrieved from the Terezin Concentration Camp after the war.
