I'm a designer and educator, adept at translating my background in architecture and urban planning into activities that engage students in examining the world around them, exploring the impact that the built environment has on their lives, and learning about the design process, a sequence that incorporates so many of the core 21st century skills that today's education standards require and that results in unique expressions of concept and form. Projects may include mapmaking, city design, classroom design, product design, or neighborhod studies. I have 30 years of experience in designing project-based and place-based learning and welcome opportunities to collaborate with schools and individual teachers to create units and resources that can stay with the school beyond my residency.
