The goal of this unit is for English Language Learner (ELL) students to gain a better understanding of what makes a particular object symbolic and important in a story and, more specifically, understand the meaning of several symbolic objects in the novel Holes by Louis Sachar. Also, this unit focuses on students enhancing their english proficiency in reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
