10X10 Exhibit: Inspired by JACOB LAWRENCE AND JOAN GAITHER​
Inspired by painter Jacob Lawrence and Maryland story quilter Joan Gaither, students and teachers from Baltimore City Schools were invited to create 10in x10 inch artworks that celebrate themes of identity, family heritage and culture. The Reginald F. Lewis Museum, an Arts Every Day cultural partner, brought over 1,500 students to see Maryland Collects: Jacob Lawrence which is on display until January 7th, 2018. Joan Gaither’s work, Freedom: Emancipation Quilted and Stitched was on view on November 9th, 2017 to February 28th, 2018.
