What We Do

Arts Every Day has emerged as a leading voice of advocacy actively working towards equity and access for all Baltimore City Schools students. Our advocacy efforts have been well received at the district, City government, and state level. Here is just a glimpse of what Arts Every Day accomplished in 2014:

  • Provided over $165,000 in funding for arts programs, teacher professional development, and staff support to 35 schools
  • Leveraged 2,062 free student tickets and 24 free buses through partnerships with cultural institutions citywide
  • Collaboratively organized fifteen arts organizations and 150+ students, parents, educators and to attend the meeting of the Baltimore City School Board of Commissioners to show grassroots support for the arts in education
  • Connected teachers district-wide to arts organizations through six educator events hosted by The Walters Art Museum, The Reginald F. Lewis Museum, The Jewish Museum of Maryland, The National Aquarium, CenterStage, and The American Visionary Arts Museum
  • Created and piloted a Design Thinking Curriculum in partnership with the National Aquarium and the Maryland Institute College of Art
  • Organized student art shows at Baltimore City Hall and The Maryland Zoo exhibiting 250 individual pieces of artwork
  • Engaged over 500 students and parents through family art events and outreach
